Risk resilient forest management

Objectives

  1. Identify silvicultural treatments to reduce stand vulnerability to extreme climate events
  2. Define risk resilient silvicultural guidelines
  3. Develop algorithms of risk resilient silvicultural alternatives for being included in forest simulators
    Tasks: Methods and work plan

Tasks

Task 3.1 Review of mixed stands structure effects on growth and resilience

Task 3.2 Analysis of the effect of mixing species on productivity (data from WP2)

Task 3.3 Analysis of the interactions between species mixing and thinning

Task 3.4 Development of risk resilient silvicultural guidelines- (interactions with WP5 and WP6)

Task 3.5 Formulation of computer algorithms- to provide management tools to end-users (WP5).

Task 3.6 Establishment of a network of training plots- in cooperation with WP5 and WP6.
